Preparing for the release of QGIS 0.9
Submitted by Tim Sutton on Thu, 2007-07-19 01:44.
Dear all
1) Can I get a quick straw poll for the question: Can we delete all the automake stuff from svn for this release?
Respond with +1, 0 or -1 as per normal.
2) I have the checklist for the 0.9.0 release up at
http://wiki.qgis.org/qgiswiki/ReleaseChecklist0.9
I'm looking for volunteers to help with the release process. If you are able to help sifting through bugs in trac, dealing with patches, creating packages, please contact me. You dont need to be a coding guru to help, you just need to be prepared to donate a few hours each week to help.
3) I'd like to create a first review release 26 July 2007. It would be great to get any in progress bug fixes etc you have into svn by then. Also I will be setting all open bugs against 0.9 milestone. If you are a non developer you can make a valuable contribution to QGIS by trying out the preview and filing bugs as you encounter them.
4) I'd like to get the package build process documented for all platforms / distros. If you are a package builder and are able to spend a little time documenting what you do, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance to all those contributing their valuable time towards getting 0.9 released.
